RALEIGH, N.C. — The Poe Center for Health Education is offering both in-person and virtual sessions of its Girl Talk and Guy Talk sessions.

The programs are designed for kids and their caregivers to learn about the basics of puberty and launch discussions about it at home. I've done the Girl Talk program with my daughter and can highly recommend it.

Upcoming sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Guy Talk, a virtual session, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., July 24
  • Girl Talk, in-person session, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Aug. 7
  • Girl Talk, virtual session, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Aug. 7

The fee is $25 per family. Guy Talk is designed for boys in fifth to eighth graders and their fathers or another trusted adult. Girl Talk is designed for girls in grades fourth to seventh grade and their mothers or another trusted adult.

Head over to Poe Center's website for registration information. The Poe Center is near downtown Raleigh.
