Poe Center lines up virtual mom-daughter workshop, free wellness program for kids

Poe Center for Health Education in Raleigh has lined up some virtual programs in the coming weeks for kids. The nonprofit works year-round to educate kids on healthy living.

Poe Center for Health Education in Raleigh has lined up some virtual programs in the coming weeks for kids. The nonprofit works year-round to educate kids on healthy living.

Wellness Wednesdays are first up. At 2 p.m., Wednesdays, from July 1 to Aug. 12, health educators will lead fun nutrition or fitness activities live via Zoom. The program is free, but advanced registration is required to access the Zoom link. More information is on Poe's website. Topics include yoga, fitness fun and healthy snacking. The website says the program is designed for kids and teens.
And Girl Talk: A Mother-Daughter Workshop is 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m,. July 25. The live online puberty education class for moms and daughters, ages fourth grade to seventh grade, usually meets in person. But Poe pivoted to a virtual model during the pandemic, which has been incredibly popular. The cost is $25 per mother-daughter pair and $10 for each individual daughter.
