Middle Creek School Park in Cary is part of a joint venture between the town of Cary and Wake County schools. Here you'll find Middle Creek High School, along with a large town park with ball fields, disc golf, trails and a playground.

We'll focus on the playground here, which sits between some multi-purpose fields and a softball complex. The playground is pretty standard with play sets for kids ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12.

There are slides, pieces to climb, monkey bars and other traditional play pieces, including bucket and belt swings. Restrooms and drinking fountains are just a few paces from the playground. There was plenty of parking right next to the playground when we were there (though there were no games going on). And there's a small lawn where kids can kick a ball or families can picnic.

One fun feature on the play set for younger kids: Kids can climb up a large "A," "B," and "C." And there's also an artificial rock for kids to climb, a nice feature especially for older kids.
