Crabtree Valley Mall is unveiling a new online reservation system for visits with Santa this year. For a $20 deposit, which will be applied toward the cost of a photo package, you can reserve your slot and avoid the lines, which can get really long the closer you get to Christmas.

The general public can start selecting their times on Nov. 8, but Go Ask Mom readers can reserve their slot now through Nov. 6 by going to the Santa page on Crabtree's website.

As a special bonus, those who book a time online through Crabtree's reservation system and see Santa by Nov. 30 will be entered into a drawing to have Santa personally visit their children at home before Christmas Day. One winning family will be selected to receive a personal visit from Santa. If you want to enter that contest, just be sure that you both book your visit with Santa and see him by Nov. 30.

Crabtree will welcome Santa at its annual Santa Breakfast at 8:30 a.m., Nov. 14, in the food court. Chick-fil-A will cater a breakfast for up to 125 pre-registered children ages 10 and under. The event is free, but registration is required by calling the mall office at 919-787-2506.

Santa will be at the mall through Dec. 24 for visits and photos.
