It's looking like a mid-February opening for Notasium's newest location in Cary.

The play space and music school opened its first location in August 2015 in Durham after a successful online fundraiser. The location offers music classes and programs, including group and individual lessons and adult-child classes for kids as young as 12 months. Notasium also hosts birthday parties and lots of camp options.

Families also can go there to play for a fee. A music-themed indoor play space features a variety of ways to play - and learn a bit about music. That includes a giant guitar fretboard that kids can climb up, playing notes along the way, and slide down; a beat kitchen where kids can bang on all sorts of pots and pans; and more.

The Cary location will offer both the play space and programs for kids and families.

"People have driven in from Raleigh and Cary for the the play space periodically but not for weekly lessons and classes," owner Preston Clarke told me last year. "Now they will be able to because we will be a few minutes from downtown Cary and under 15 from downtown Raleigh."

Classes are scheduled to start Feb. 19 at the Cary location, according to its Facebook page. There's a special pre-sale that's happening now and runs through Jan. 31 for families who are ready to line up classes and programs. The Cary location will be at 1000 Ryan Rd. in Village Square across from Cary Towne Center and just off of Interstate 40.
