North Hills event to raise money to end women's cancers, offers mammograms
The walk is organized by the five Young Moms Against Cancer, who represent young mothers who all were treated for breast cancer in 2018.
Posted — UpdatedHere's a fun—and important—event to go to with your mom friends.
The North Hills Wine Walk is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., May 11, and will raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which works to end women's cancers.
With a $20 donation, Wine Walk participants walk around participating stores that will be marked with five pink balloons, and each store will offer participants a small one or two-ounce pour of wine while the customer shops. (A non-alcoholic option will also be available.)
Also, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., May 11, the Rex UNC Health Care mobile mammogram unit will be on site, next to Monkee’s, offering mammograms. If a woman does not have insurance, the mammogram will be free of charge to her. If a woman has insurance, she simply uses her insurance to register.
