Special Christmas Gift Changes Cary Man's Outlook On Life

Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — A Cary man said this Christmas he got the best gift ever -- a change of heart -- in more ways than one.

Norman "Skid" Row had a heart transplant at Duke three weeks ago. Before the surgery, doctors gave him only a year to live. Six weeks after getting on a donor list, Row got word there was a heart available.

"I will live a normal, long life, but everyday I'm going to think about what's happening. Not let it just be forgotten," Row said.

Row said his mission is to now spread the word about why organ donation is so important.
