— Bayer Advanced on Thursday won its ninth consecutive trophy in the Tournament of Roses Parade.

The Research Triangle Park-based company, which makes pesticides and herbicides, won the Fantasy Trophy for most outstanding display of fantasy and imagination on its Garden of Oz float saluting "The Wizard of Oz." The 55-foot-long float included more than 12,000 roses, including a "yellow brick road" made out of yellow roses, and a 30-foot-tall Emerald City with multiple strobe lights.

Bayer Advanced also won the Fantasy Trophy in 2001 and 2004. It won the Queen's Trophy the last three years.
