History museum hosts family day

Craftsmen, storytellers and exhibits will focus on the state's coastal heritage

RALEIGH, N.C. — The N.C. Museum of History will host a family day June 7 featuring entertainment and educational opportunities.

Admission and parking are free for the celebration, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5 East Edenton St. in Raleigh.

Craftsmen, storytellers and exhibits will focus on the state's coastal heritage, the museum's Nancy Pennington said.
Karen Willis Amspacher and Capt. Ernie Foster will share stories about Hatteras Island, where he operates the state’s oldest charter boat operation, the Albatross Fleet.

Rudy Austin will talk about life on Harkers Island and Ocracoke Island.
