Dozens of teams from around the Triangle flexed their muscles Saturday to raise money for the Special Olympics of North Carolina.

Teams raised money from sponsors who bet on their ability to pull 30,000-pound regional jet 20 feet on a runway at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Teams, in categories like corporate, law enforcement and female-only, competed to complete the pull in the shortest amount of time.

WRAL-TV's Ken Smith joined members of the SONC Board of Directors on their team.

In all, the event raised $142,000.
