Police are ruling the death of a woman found Thursday in an abandoned Nash County school as a homicide.

According to the Nashville Police Department, officers were patrolling Thursday in the area of Sixth and Brake streets. They found the body of a woman at the abandoned W.L. Greene School.

On Monday, police identified the woman as 61-year-old Debbie Allen. Police said that while Allen's death is ruled a homicide, there is no ongoing threat to the community and they believe her death was an isolated incident.

"The Nashville Police Department extends its thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time," the police department said in a statement.
