NC Zoo opens new attraction featuring colorful butterflies, blooms

The North Carolina Zoo opened a new attraction this month - the Kaleidoscope Butterfly Garden.

ASHEBORO, N.C. — The North Carolina Zoo opened a new attraction this month - the Kaleidoscope Butterfly Garden.

The exhibit, which is found in the zoo's Junction Plaza, features native U.S. and exotic species of butterflies, which are flitting around an immersive, walk-through habitat that includes tropical plants and colorful flowers, according to the zoo.

The attraction is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Oct. 31. The cost is $3 per person or as a Fun Ticket option. Fun Tickets are $3 each or four for $9.

The zoo is in Asheboro, which is about 90 minutes from the Triangle. General admission to the zoo is between $11 and $15 per person.
