RALEIGH, N.C. — The N.C. Museum of Art recently released a really family-friendly schedule of outdoor movies for this summer. They start July 10 and run through the end of August.

While most movies on the schedule are rated G or PG, these are classic movies. So it's worth checking Common Sense Media or other sites to make sure that they are right for your family. As many parents know after turning on favorites from their childhood, there's a big difference between PG-rated films today and PG-rated films from the 1980s.

Some other details: Tickets are required. They are $7 for non-museum members and free for museum members and kids ages 6 and under.

Here's the schedule:

  • The Goonies; Saturday, July 10, 9 pm
  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; Saturday, July 17, 9 pm
  • Clueless; Saturday, July 24, 9 pm
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail; Saturday, July 31, 9 pm
  • Sister Act; Saturday, August 7, 9 pm
  • Singin’ in the Rain; Saturday, August 14, 9 pm
  • The Wiz; Saturday, August 21, 8:30 pm
  • West Side Story; Saturday, August 28, 8:30 pm
More information is on the museum's website.
