N.C. art museum launches free movie series Wednesday
The family film series will feature new and classic live-action and animated films and shorts. Best for ages 5 to 12.
Posted — UpdatedThe N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh will kick off a new free movie series for families this summer on Wednesday afternoons.
The family film series will showcase new and classic live-action and animated films and shorts. Movies are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesdays, through Aug. 22. They are best for ages 5 to 12. The movies will change weekly. Each film will be accompanied by a related free craft.
At last check, three movies are scheduled for the series so far. Here's the schedule:
- “Adventures of Owen” 2011, USA, Directed by David Cadiz, 14 mins
- “The Gruffalo” 2009, UK, Directed by Max Lang, Jakob Schuh, 27 mins
- “Cosmic Zoom”, 1968, Canada, Directed by Eva Szaz, 8min
- “Moon Man”, 1981, Author Tomi Ungerer, Produced by Weston Woods, 9min
- “Paddle to the Sea”, 1969, Canada, Directed by Bill Mason, 28min
- “Hoppity Goes to Town” 1941, USA, Directed by Dave Fleischer, 78min
The movies are free, but a ticket from the museum's box office is required. I'd recommend getting there early to ensure a seat.
