RALEIGH, N.C. — It's time to meet another one of Go Ask Mom's new contributors. Meka Harrell is a military wife and mother of four children. She is based in Raleigh and documents her life via the blog @xomekaharrell
Check out our Q&A with Meka:
How many children, pets, family members are you caring for?

4 kiddos (1 older daughter Elle, 3 boys: Maveric, Jagger and Axel). We also have two Bernedoodles - Marley and Harley

What type of parent would you describe yourself as?

I’m more laid back with boundaries in my parenting style. I don’t care if my children run in the house, and we jump on the couch. I want my home to be a safe space for my children, a place that they feel free and loved. But we also limit screen time so that they are able to tap into their creative side.

What has been the most rewarding part of parenting or caregiving?

The most rewarding part of parenting is watching their individual personalities flourish. I love that we have four children and they are so different. I get excited thinking about their future!

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced in your life?

My biggest life challenge has been learning to mother without having a mom growing up. As well as navigating life with an autoimmune disease.

What are some of the stories or topics you are excited to write about and share on WRAL?

I’m excited to truly explore all that Raleigh had to offer with my family as well as share topics on family travel, traditions and family fashion.
