Man identified who was killed in Fayetteville shooting

A man was fatally shot in Fayetteville, police said Saturday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. β€” A man was fatally shot in Fayetteville, police said Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of Knotty Elm Loop around 5:15 a.m. after a shooting was reported. A man was found inside a house with at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saturday evening, Fayetteville police identified the man killed as Jeramy Thomas, 29. Authorities said the shooting does not appear to be random.

A homicide investigation is ongoing, and Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crimestoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the shooting can call the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 818-3468 or CrimeStoppers at (910) 483-8477.
