Cumberland County deputies seeking suspect, vehicle in shooting

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating a vehicle and the suspect in a shooting that happened early Thursday.

Deputies were called at around 6:36 a.m. to the intersection of Research Drive and Assembly Court for an unconscious person. Deputies found the person with a gunshot wound. He was identified as Richard Kendrick Moore Jr., 30, of Raeford. He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment.

The sheriff's office said in a press release it is looking for a black 2014 Mazda CX-5. It is possibly displaying the license plate PKL-9087.
