RALEIGH, N.C. — A 19-year-old Raleigh man faces child abuse charges after police say he drove drunk with his young daughter in the vehicle.

An arrest warrant states that a police officer stopped Jaime Jose Hernandez, of 6514 Sandy Forks Road Apt. J, after he ran a red light on Millbrook Road around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Tests showed that Hernandez had a blood-alcohol content level of 0.11, according to the warrant. The legal limit is .08.

Hernandez was charged with misdemeanor child abuse, driving while impaired, driving after consuming alcohol was underage, driving with a revoked license and failure to stop for a red light.

He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $5,000 secured bond. His first court date was set for Sept. 1.

State Department of Correction records show that Hernandez was convicted of DWI in Wake County last September. He was sentenced to probation.
