Local nonprofit to host free financial literacy workshop for high school students

RALEIGH, N.C.L5 Angels, a local nonprofit that's working to support kids who have lost a sibling to gun violence, will offer a free financial literacy program for high school students next month.

Money Talks: If It Don't Make Dollars; It Don't Make Sense is 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 6, in Raleigh.

The program will cover topics about debt, budgeting, saving, wealth building and entrepreneurship. Guest speakers include Kiara Martin, CEO of Bright Future Credit Solutions, and Jesse Padilla-Alegria, owner of Right Cut Barbershop.

L5 Angels, launched by a local mom, hosts and participates in community events and operates a scholarship fund, among other activities.
