Here's a fun opportunity for kids who love being on stage ...

North Carolina Theatre will host local auditions for its summer production of Annie for both children and adults in a couple of weeks.

Auditions are Sunday, March 10, for young female singers who look ages 5 to 13 for the role of Annie and other female orphans. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Auditions to cast adult roles will be held on Saturday, March 9.

According to NC Theatre's website, all girls for all roles will first sing a selection from the first half of “It's a Hard Knock Life” as a group then one at a time while in the audition room with her group. Those asked to stay for the next step in the audition process will be asked to sing 16 to 32 bars from sheet music of her own.

Details about the auditions, what you need to bring and more is on NC Theatre's website.

Good luck!

It's also worth noting that registration is open for the NC Theatre Summer Theatre Arts School. Programs start for kids ages 7 and up.
