The Kids Exchange, the massive consignment sale at the N.C. State Fairgrounds, opens to the public on Friday.

You'll find deals on all kinds of clothing, toys, gear, furniture and more for children. The sale in Raleigh spreads out across two buildings - the Jim Graham Building and the Expo Building.

The sale is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, when some items are half off. There are earlier shopping hours for consignors and volunteers.

I always recommending going to a sale with a plan and list of what you need and sizes, along with something to carry your purchases - such as a wagon or a stroller without a child in it.

One thing to note at this sale: All purchased items must leave in a bag. Shoppers can bring their own large shopping bag or kitchen size trash bag from home, though you can't use them when collecting items from the floor. The sale also will have bags for purchase. They are 25 cents each.

For more about the sale, check the website.
This is the start of the spring/summer sale season. For a list of all the sales in the region, check our database.

Happy bargain hunting!
