For the seventh year, IHOP restaurants across the country will offer each guest a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday.
The event raises awareness and money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which includes Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.

For every short stack of buttermilk pancakes served on Tuesday, dubbed National Pancake Day, IHOP guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. IHOP hopes to raise $2.7 million this year.

Last year, IHOP served 4 million free pancakes. Guests donated more than $2.5 million. Since the first National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly $8 million and given away more than 14 million pancakes.
