Fire up your DVRs! Frosty, Grinch, holiday classics scheduled

If we missed our annual viewing of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Frosty the Snowman," and the much newer "Prep and Landing," I'm pretty sure my kids would revolt. And I'd miss them too.

Editor's note: This post is updated for the 2019 season.

I love getting cozy on the couch with my kids this time of year to watch Christmas classics like "Frosty the Snowman" and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." And now I'm thrilled that my 10-year-old has met no cheesy Christmas movie that she has not loved. We love watching them together!

So, each Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for my DVR, which ensures that we won't miss any of them, and streaming services like Netflix!

A few sites have the Christmas show schedules lined up. Here are ones that I find helpful.

It's a Wonderful Movie: This website is incredibly comprehensive with a huge list of shows starting now through Jan. 1 - from Frosty and Rudolph to Prep and Landing and The Grinch. It's regularly updated so keep checking back if you don't see your favorite listed.
Freeform: The channel, formerly called ABC Family, celebrates the holiday with its 25 Days of Christmas with classic flicks and new ones.
Hallmark Channel: Always a favorite for sentimental holiday flicks.
Netflix also has some 2019 holiday movies. My 10-year-old and I can recommend (if, again, you like cheesy Christmas movies) both "The Knight Before Christmas" and "Holiday in the Wild." Good Housekeeping has details about what's streaming on Netflix.

Happy viewing!
