You might remember Toqui, Karen and Michelle, former parent consultants at Wake County's Project Enlightenment, who launched N.C. Parent Consultants in the spring.

The three offered some back to school tips for preschoolers to high schoolers on Go Ask Mom a couple of weeks ago. Find the links to the left there. N.C. Parent Consultants offers one-on-one consultations and workshops.

Toqui Kennedy tells me the group will be launching a new series for parents looking for some quality parenting information. "Parents on the Go" coffee forums will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the first and third Saturday mornings of the month starting in October.

Topics in October are "Consequences vs. Punishment" on Oct. 2 and "Homework Battles" on Oct. 16.

The forums are so far scheduled through May. And future topics include discipline tips for older kids; discipline tips for younger kids; reducing sibling and peer conflict; does only mean lonely; and answering the hard questions about sex, death, divorce and other tricky topics.

The forums are in the offices of N.C. Parent Consultants at 4904 Waters Edge Dr., Suite 151, in Raleigh off Jones Franklin Road.  The cost is $10 at the door.

Registration isn't required. But shoot them an email at enroll@ncparentconsultants.com to let them know you're coming. And check the N.C. Parent Consultants website for contact information to learn more.
