You've heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Well, after days spent strategizing what gifts to give to friends and family, there's another day focused on giving back to our communities. It's called Giving Tuesday, which is Dec. 3 this year.

Lots of groups will be offering ways to help out communities that day. One local project is at Duke Children's where they are working to raise money for a play area project. Leaders hope to raise $20,000 to pay for much needed enhancements to the outdoor play area at the McGovern-Davison Children's Health Clinic so it's a more useful, interactive and healing space for patients and their families.

The money would pay for landscaping; play elements such as a basketball court, sandbox,  balls and activity walls; signs; and shade structures.

For details about how you can give back and take part in this project, which will surely lift up the spirits of some kids who need a boost, click here.
