Downtown Raleigh will host a summer outdoor movie series starting this Friday.

The series runs for six Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., May 23, May 30, June 6, June 13, June 20 and June 27, on City Plaza on Fayetteville Street. The event features films made in North Carolina on an outdoor screen, local food trucks, a microbrew beer tent and live music. It's free and open to the public.

The movies on the schedule are definitely geared toward an older crowd, but they might be fun for families with older kids.

Here's the schedule:

May 23: Dirty Dancing (PG-13). Rock group Nick Driver Band will perform before the movie.

May 30: Talladega Nights (PG-13)

June 6: Last of the Mohicans (R)

June 13: Hunger Games (PG-13)

June 20: Iron Man 3 (PG-13)

June 27: The evening will highlight a collaboration with Full Frame, the Durham-based non-profit which promotes the art form of documentary film.
