10:24 p.m.: The Fresh Market, which has seven locations in our viewing area, is requiring all customers wear a face mask before entering each store, starting this Tuesday. The company says the grocery stores are requiring all employees to also wear masks.
7:37 p.m.: Durham County's Department of Public Health says it is working with a nursing and rehabilitation facility there for an outbreak at the facility. Health officials said there are multiple cases at the facility, which is not being named by health officials. Testing is ongoing.
7:07 p.m.: Durham County reports 14 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total in the county to 277.
5:21 p.m.: There have been 344 new COVID-19 cases reported in the past day, bringing the total over 4,300. A death in Mecklenburg County is the 12th there and the 89th in the state. There are 351 reported recovery cases in at least 20 counties.

Week over week, we are up 75% from where we were last Saturday (2,483 cases at the end of Saturday). Mecklenburg County continues to have the most COVID-19 cases with 935. Wake County has 425 and Durham County has 264.

The counties that do not have a coronavirus case now are Graham, Swain, Madison, Yancey, Avery, Camden, Tyrrell and Hyde.

5:11 p.m.: A fourth death of a patient at PruittHealth has been reported, officials with the Orange County Health Department said. The person was in their 60s and a resident at PruittHealth.

Orange County currently has 141 cases of COVID19 as of early Saturday.

5:05 p.m.: Lee County confirmed a ninth case of COVID-19 today, while Johnston County released new data stating that as of 4 p.m. it has confirmed 96 cases, 18 hospitalizations and four deaths, all of which were among patients 65 or older.
4:30 p.m: Pamlico County has confirmed its sixth case of COVID-19. According to a press release issued by the County Emergency Services, confirmation of the test came back at around 11:00 AM Saturday. The county's task force is working on conducting tracing to make sure anyone who came into contact with this individual is quarantined or isolated.
2:00 p.m.: Orange County has reported its second COVID-19 associated death--a resident at PruittHealth - Carolina Point. This is one of the two long term care facilities in Orange County with outbreaks of COVID-19.
1:30 p.m.: Mecklenburg County has reported its 12th death, while Richmond and Dare counties both had their first. Mecklenburg has the most cases statewide at 935.
1:00 p.m.: North Carolina is up more than 300 cases since yesterday, the largest single-day rise our state has had so far. NC has a total of 4,344 confirmed cases, with 88 deaths and 362 hospitalized. However, 328 have recovered so far.
12:15 p.m.: The United States COVID-19 death count has surpassed Italy and all other countries.

11:30 a.m.: Lee County has announced two new cases of COVID-19, raising their total number of confirmed cases to eight.
10:30 a.m.: Crime statistics are dropping all around the world as a result of COVID-19 keeping people in doors. Likewise, pollution levels seem to be dropping.
9:30 a.m.: Unemployment claims jumped from 282,000 on March 14 to over 6.6 million on April 4, less than a month later. COVID-19 is having an enormous impact on the economy, forcing many businesses to lay off employees.

8:30 a.m. Universal Studios released their new move 'Trolls World Tour' direct to streaming, making it one of the first movies to bypass theaters entirely.

The Universal title — a sequel to the 2016 animated movie “Trolls” — was scheduled for a wide release, with the original having earned nearly $350 million worldwide.
