Cool off inside the PNC Arena during Carolina Hurricanes' Summerfest

Free activities include open practices this Wednesday and Thursday and lots of fun on Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes already is gearing up for the next season with its Prospects Development Camp and Summerfest events this week, which give the public a close-up view of on-ice play.

During this week's camp, 26 players, including nine selected by the Hurricanes in the recent NHL draft, along with other top prospects and invitees, will participate in practices that are free and open to the public inside the PNC Arena. It's a fun way to cool off - and see some hockey drills and play for free.

Here's the schedule. Doors will open 15 minutes before each session. Free parking and admission will be available on the east side of the building.

Wednesday, June 26
  • 5 p.m., on-ice testing, open to the public
  • 6 p.m., team practice, open to the public
Thursday, June 27
  • 5:30 p.m., team practice, open to the public

The free Summerfest Celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 29. Admission and parking are free. A 3-on-3 Canes Prospect Game is slated for noon. The day also includes an equipment sale, prospects autograph session, 20 interactive inflatables, games and more.
