RALEIGH, N.C. — After 11 days the rides at the North Carolina State Fair are being hauled away. This was the first time the fair returned since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While the fair came back in full force, the attendance was not the same.

Saturday, Oct. 23 had the highest attendance with the numbers being 10,000 shy of their 10-year average. The lowest attended day was Saturday, Oct. 16.

The fair saw its highest attendance ever over the weekend in 2010 with nearly 132,000 people showing up on Saturday and more than 112,000 people the following Sunday.

Numbers for the final day of the fair are expected to be released Monday.

Next years fair dates have already been announced: October 13-23.
