CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police are renewing their call for help in solving the murder of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student Faith Hedgepeth.

Friday marks six years since her death.

Hedgepeth, who was 19 at the time, was beaten to death in her off-campus apartment.

Chapel Hill Police Chief Chris Blue says investigators are working this case non-stop and using new technology in hopes of cracking the case.

Police believe someone knows information about what happened to Hedgepeth.

Family members spoke to WRAL News in the past, making a plea for help.

“One little piece of information could break the case, could give us some type of peace,” said Hedgepeth’s sister, Rolanda Hedgepeth. “How could somebody withhold it from us after everything we've lost?”

There's a reward of up to $40,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
