A heads up: The Chapel Hill Public Library will be open for about another six weeks before it closes to move to temporary quarters at University Mall.

The library will close on Sept. 23 and reopen at University Mall in early October. It will reopen at its expanded permanent location in December 2012.

Starting this week, the library will not accept book donations until it reopens at University Mall. Starting Aug. 25, meeting space will not be available to the public until it reopens in its renovated space in 2012.

The library is currently located within Pritchard Park, a 32-acre public park with nature and walking trails. The current 27,000-square-foot library was built in 1994 in the northeast section of the park.
