CARY, N.C. — A Cary pizza restaurant is closing its doors Thursday.
Your Pie at 685 Cary Towne Blvd. is closing because restaurant owner Efrem Yates said he could not "reach mutually beneficial lease renegotiation terms" with the building's owners. Your Pie opened at the location in 2019.

The Raleigh and Durham locations of Your Pie will continue to operate.

“This news is bittersweet and represents an important milestone. There will always be a special place in my heart for this store as it represents the first step into my journey of full-time entrepreneurship,” Yates said in a statement on social media. “However, with the changing circumstances around commercial real estate, inflation, and not being able to come to mutually beneficial terms on the Cary lease, we’ve had to make this difficult decision. Even though this one location is closing, I feel immense pride for our accomplishments. I’m grateful for our team members and the character-building experiences we’ve endured together. Most importantly, I cherish the relationships and connections we’ve fostered while serving the Cary community.”

Yates said that more than 60 percent of his business has been takeout orders since the pandemic. The changes have prompted him to open a mobile pizza kitchen this fall.

“Being able to meet customers where they are - including festivals, outdoor activities, and events - will be a gamechanger for businesses navigating this new environment. There are many exciting things to come," Yates said.
