Cary opens new indoor venue for classes, programs, birthday parties

Cary will open a new indoor space for individuals and families this week called The Hive.

CARY, N.C. — Cary will open a new indoor space for individuals and families this week called The Hive.

The multipurpose facility is designed to offer activities for all ages - from arts and music to exercise and STEM programs, according to a news release. It also can host birthday parties. An open house is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29. During the event, you'll get a preview of some of the activities that will be offered in the 2,000-square-foot space. It sits near McCrimmon Parkway and Yates Store Road.

Here's the schedule of activities for the open house on Monday:

1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.- Parent and Child/Toddler Yoga with Rakhi

1:30 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. – Preschool/Youth Dance with Maggie

2 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.– Kidokinetics Preschool Sports

2:30 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. – Stretch, Flex and Balance for Seniors with Laura

3 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. – Modern Calligraphy for Adults with Dara

5:30 p.m. – Ribbon Cutting with the Cary Town Council

6:10 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Zumba Kids with Tiffany

6:40 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Cartoon Sketching for Youth/Teens with Alberto

If you register for Hive classes during the open house, you'll get a 20 percent discount. Cary's website has more details about The Hive, the open house and ongoing events and programs.
