Records WRAL obtained reveal Wake County Child Protective Services responded to reports of neglect involving a Cary mom accused of killing her young daughters.

A grand jury indicted Launice Battle this week on charges of murder in the deaths of her two children.

Battle was arrested in August after she arrived at Duke Hospital with 2-year-old Trinity and 3-year-old Amora Milbourne in her car. Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman has not said how or where the girls died or what prompted the murder charge.

Battle had<a href="https://www.wral.com/story/cary-mother-charged-with-murdering-2-children-had-multiple-previous-reports-of-neglect/20452764/"> a history of interactions with Wake County Child Protective Services</a>, and investigators had closed a case involving the family exactly one month before <a href="https://www.wral.com/story/cary-mother-charged-with-murder-was-at-a-gambling-parlor-before-her-daughters-deaths/20439749/">Battle was accused of killing her daughters</a>.

SHE TELLS ME, QUOTE, SHE WAS IN AND OUT THE WHOLE TIME. SHE WAS HERE. RALEIGH POLICE WERE CALLED TO DUKE RALEIGH HOSPITAL ABOUT 2 HOURS LATER AROUND 9.40, SATURDAY NIGHT. IT'S ABOUT 3 MILES FROM HERE. THAT'S WHERE THEY WERE CALLED WHEN 2 YEAR OLD TRINITY AND 3 YEAR-OLD MORE AT MILLBURN WERE PRONOUNCED DEAD. NOW THAT HOSPITAL AGAIN JUST ABOUT 3 MILES FROM THIS LOCATION HERE, I AM TOLD BY THE EMPLOYEE HERE THEY HAVE ALL KINDS OF SECURITY CAMERAS UP HERE. THEY FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS YESTERDAY WHEN DETECTIVES CAME BY HERE, SHE SAYS EVERYONE HERE IS SHOCKED. NOW I DID SPEND A DAY SEARCHING AT THE COURTHOUSE. THE ONLY THINGS FILED IN THIS CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION WITH THESE MURDER CHARGES ARE THESE 2 ARREST WARRANTS THAT WERE FILED THEY SAY RIGHT HERE, THOSE MURDER CHARGES FOR THIS CASE. WE ALSO ASKED WAKE COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES FOR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT ANY CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT REPORTS OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM JUST YET, BUT THEY ARE GATHERING THAT INFORMATION IF, IN FACT, THERE WERE ANY CASES INVOLVING THIS MOTHER. Cary mom charged with murder was at a gambling parlor before her 2 daughters' deaths

Launice Battle's father told WRAL News that his daughter may have been at a gambling parlor and left her two children in the car.  An employee at Vegas Style Sweepstakes and Entertainment at 5540 Atlantic Springs Road said Battle was at the venue on the same day she’s accused of killing her daughters.
