A grand jury indicted Launice Battle this week on charges of murder in the deaths of her two children.

Battle was arrested in August after she arrived at Duke Hospital with 2-year-old Trinity and 3-year-old Amora Milbourne in her car. Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman has not said how or where the girls died or what prompted the murder charge.

Battle had a history of interactions with Wake County Child Protective Services, and investigators had closed a case involving the family exactly one month before Battle was accused of killing her daughters.

Launice Battle's father told WRAL News that his daughter may have been at a gambling parlor and left her two children in the car.  An employee at Vegas Style Sweepstakes and Entertainment at 5540 Atlantic Springs Road said Battle was at the venue on the same day she’s accused of killing her daughters.
