Also on Friday night, head to the Red Hat Amphitheater for a free show by the Silversun Pickups. Get there early! General admission seating is first come, first served. Show is at 6 p.m. Friday.

Live rock, country, blues and bluegrass music and mouth-watering barbecue combine for an exciting weekend at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary this weekend. The annual Beer Bourbon and BBQ Festival is Friday and Saturday. In addition to the barbecue and music, there will be cigars, beer and premier bourbon tastings and seminars. Tickets start at $55.
Singer songwriter Sheryl Crow will play the Durham Performing Arts Center on Saturday night. Tickets start at $79 and are still available.
Durham Central Park is the site of the Summer in the City celebration on Saturday. The day will include live music, artists, local food and drink, games and giveaways. The free event runs from 3-9 p.m.
Also in Durham this Saturday, the Rock the Park concert series continues with the Sahara Reggae Band The free show runs from 6-8 p.m. at Rock Quarry Park.
Beer flight
On Sunday, The Piedmont restaurant is teaming up with Bull City Burger and Brewery for a special dinner. The special dinner is part of the Piedmont's summer dinner series. The four course dinner, which includes beer pairings, is $35 per person.
