Baby Steps: A little help
Our fertility specialist came through in a bind again!
Posted — UpdatedOur fertility specialist came through in a bind again! Dr. P is really starting to grow on me … even though we’ve only met in person a handful of times.
I decided to put some of my new found free time (since graduation) to good use and apply for a grant that would help us out with the cost of treatment. For us, our only option is IVF so – while we haven’t spent lots of time with our fertility docs – we could very well be in for a hefty price tag if we want a baby of our own. We haven’t decided for certain that this is what we’ll do but it is one of the few options we’ve narrowed down to.
The challenge for us was to try to get this extensive application done in a very limited time frame. By the time my rigorous class schedule and graduation was over, we only had about a week to get it all together. Most importantly, we needed a letter from our fertility doctor to describe our situation. I assumed we’d be pushing it to get a busy doctor to complete a personal letter for a single patient with only a business week to do it.
Remarkably – I was wrong again!
Dr. P responded to my Friday evening email on Monday morning and said he would have the letter done the same day. Again, I am amazed by and deeply grateful for the personal attention we’ve received.
