RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Raleigh Model Railroad Club is giving you another reason to swing by the new Raleigh Union Station this holiday season.

Because there just seems to be something about Christmas and trains, on weekends in December, the club will have their model railroad on display in the downtown Raleigh train station. It's open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, through Dec. 30.

According to NC By Train, the train set is on the second floor of the station. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available at The Dillon, which is across the street from the station at 223 South West St.
You also can make a trip of it by stopping by the observation deck to view the Piedmont or Carolinian trains as they arrive or depart. I covered that in an earlier post.
While you're there, swing by CAM Raleigh, Videri Chocolate Factory, and, for some old-school arcade fun (with drinks for the parents), Boxcar Bar and Arcade, which all are within very easy walking distance of the train.
