The City of Oaks Foundation is working with the City of Raleigh Parks Recreation and Cultural Resources Department to give kids, who might not otherwise have the opportunity, a chance to go to camp this summer.

The Give Play Initiative aims to remove the cost barrier for kids ages 7 to 16 so they can be involved in park programs. The foundation, a nonprofit conservation organization that works closely with the city's parks department, is providing scholarships for multiple city nature and outdoor-themed camps this summer.

Applications are being accepted now and are due no later than 5 p.m., April 15. Raleigh's website has the online application and more details.
