Angier police officer charged with driving while impaired

Angier patrol officer Conner Capshaw, 27, was driving his personal truck at 7:17 p.m. Saturday in Willow Spring when he turned at the intersection of Kennebec Road and Edgeleaf Drive, drove into the left lane and sideswiped an SUV, according to officials with the state highway patrol.

WILLOW SPRINGS, N.C. — An Angier police officer has been charged with driving while intoxicated after he sideswiped an SUV on Saturday while off duty.

Angier patrol officer Conner Capshaw, 27, was driving his personal truck at 7:17 p.m. on Saturday in Willow Spring when he turned at the intersection of Kennebec Road and Edgeleaf Drive, drove into the left lane and sideswiped an SUV.

The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles. The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with minor back pain.

Capshaw's was released without bond. His court date is set for June 10.
