The House is expected to vote Wednesday on Senate changes to a bill that would extend the waiting period for a woman seeking an abortion. The major change would allow more physicians to perform the procedure than the original version.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the House approved the latest effort to secure the future of the annual New Year's Eve Possum Drop in western North Carolina, but a bill that would expand Sunday hunting in much of the state is headed to a conference committee after the House refused to concur with the Senate's version of the measure.
