APEX, N.C. — To catch someone on the run, on Friday, the Apex Police called in an expert: a bull wrangler.

Apex police located a 1,800-pound rodeo bull, named Bone Collector, in a field off Tingen Road around 8 p.m. and then turned the situation over to the Apex Veterinary Hospital.

A bull wrangler from Salisbury was called in to bring in Bone Collector. The wrangler managed to get the bull to walk onto a trailer without further incident.

The bull had broken through a fence at the hospital on East Williams Street around 2:30 p.m. In the course of his escape, he broke through two fences and a set of stocks.

Dr. Cindy Eaton, with the hospital, described Bone Collector as a "feisty one."

A veterinary checked out Bull Collector and sent him home to Mount Airy.
