Woman reports sexual assault in Fayetteville

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit said they do not believe the incident is connected to previous sexual assaults in the area.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police detectives are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman.

The victim told police a man drove her to the 400 block of Pelt Drive about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, then raped her.

The man is described as black, in his early 40s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stocky build.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit said they do not believe the incident is connected to previous sexual assaults in the area.
