When is spring here to stay? "It's not in the 7-day," said WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth.

A cold front coming Thursday afternoon drops daytime highs back in to the 60s, and they stay there into next week.

That may sound pleasant, but it is about 10 degrees off the "normal" high for this time of year in the Triangle.

"Thursday will be mostly sunny and windy as a mainly dry cold front moves through, although a brief, isolated sprinkle or two can't be ruled out in the morning," Wilmoth said. "We could see winds gust between 30 and 40 mph."

Friday, Saturday and Sunday stay dry with clear skies for much of the day.
