Wendell man charged with robberies in Hulk mask

A Wendell man is in jail in Cumberland County on $100,000 bond charged with armed robbery.

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — A Wendell man is in jail in Cumberland County on $100,000 bond charged with armed robbery.

Police believe Lionel Vernard Robinson, 40, robbed Aldi groceries in Fayetteville, Lexington, Rocky Mount and Indian Trail.

He was arrested Wednesday in connection with a March 14 robbery at the Kernersville Aldi, at 819-D S. Main St. During that incident, employees described a man wearing a black hoosie, camouflage pants, and orange traffic vest and an Incredible Hulk mask.

Robinson is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, entering a premises wearing a mask, hood or disguide, second-degree kidnapping and assault by pointing a gun.
