Wake voters to weigh in on $1 billion in bond proposals for fall ballot
Voters in Wake County will be able to share their thoughts Monday on commissioners' plans to add more than $1 billion in bond proposals to the ballot this fall.

Voters will be invited inside the boardroom Monday afternoon to let Wake County leaders hear their concerns on better school funding and other issues -- and to find out how they intend to address those concerns.
There are three bonds that Wake County voters will see on the ballot this fall.

A $548 million bond would go toward building and renovating public schools, a $349 million bond would fund construction projects for Wake Tech campuses and a $120 million bond would purchase land for parks and help extend greenways.

If voters approve all three referenda, the county would have to raise its property tax rate by 3.8 cents to pay off the bonds, adding $95 to the annual tax bill of the owner of a $250,000 house.
Commissioners will receive a full report on the status of building projects in the Wake Schools district.
