Wake sheriff says daughter was arrested on DWI charge
Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison released a statement Wednesday saying his daughter was arrested on a driving while impaired charge earlier this month.

"While this is an embarrassing incident for her and me, I love my daughter and will support her to the extent any other father would stand behind their child," Harrison said. "However, I have confidence in the criminal justice system and intend to let it function without any interference on my part."
Raleigh police arrested Paula Gail Harrison, 46, early on Feb. 3 after finding her with her car stuck in the mud along Interstate 440 near Poole Road.
Court records show she had a 0.16 blood-alcohol concentration.
In addition the DWI charge, she faces misdemeanor charges of possession of narcotics in connection with pills she allegedly had in her pocket and resisting an officer after allegedly becoming resistant to a blood-alcohol test.
Paula Harrison was arrested in May 2010 in Johnston County on several drug-related charges dealing with prescription drugs, and she was granted a prayer for judgment continued, according to court records.
She is out of jail on a $2,000 bond. Her court date is scheduled for March 5.
