Wake County Animal Center waives adoption fees Saturday
The Wake County Animal Center will waive adoption fees for all animals for one day.
Posted — UpdatedThere are 16 cats, 64 dogs, 32 kittens and one rabbit at the shelter.
According to shelter officials, new animals are admitted each day, and the shelter can only hold 75 dogs.
“Animal shelters across the country are at, or near, capacity, including us, so we really need the community’s assistance to adopt, foster or volunteer to save these homeless pets,” said Dr. Jennifer Federico, director of the Wake County Animal Center. “We see more animals coming in than going out!”
The typical adoption fee at the Raleigh shelter is $95 for dogs, $45 for cats under five and $15 for cats older than five. All adopted animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped.
