Troopers charged a Wendell woman with reckless driving early Wednesday after she fell asleep and crashed her car in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Troopers charged a Wendell woman with reckless driving early Wednesday after she fell asleep and crashed her car in Raleigh.

Janita Byrd-Moody, 37, drove off Barwell Road and hit an embankment near Shirley Street around 12:30 a.m., authorities said.

She was taken to a nearby hospital and was expected to be OK, troopers said. No other information was released.
