Teen Dies After Being Found in Cary Pond

A teenager died after being found in a Cary pond late Tuesday, police said.

CARY, N.C. — A teenager died after being found in a local pond late Tuesday, police said.

A fisherman found the body of Nicholas Carletto, 19, in a pond on Loch Pointe Drive in the Lochmere subdivision at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, said Capt. David Wulff of the Cary Police Department.

Carletto was taken to WakeMed, where he was pronounced dead.

Police aren't calling the case a drowning, but it remains under investigation, Wulff said.
