GARNER, N.C. — For the second time in two days, a pellet gun was fired outside a Garner school.

A young man in a car shot at students outside North Garner Middle School Thursday morning, police said. Three students were hit in the legs, but they didn't suffer serious injuries, police said.

The culprit fled in a car that was parked nearby, and outdoor activities were curtailed at the school.

On Wednesday, a young man leaned out a window and shot at a group of parents outside Vandora Springs Elementary School.

Both cases remain under investigation, and a red compact car is being sought in connection with both incidents.
